This problem is familiar to anyone who has driven a new or relatively little used car for a long time.

Every engine has some number of cylinders into which the fuel mixture enters. It explodes, sets the pistons in motion, and eventually the wheels spin and your car moves. But sometimes it happens that one or more cylinders for some reason begin to malfunction. In this case there is a vibration of the engine, sometimes it seems that it is ready to jump out of the engine compartment. This is accompanied by characteristic popping into the muffler. This is how the engine trots in the cold, and, most offensively, it can occur both constantly and periodically.

TROJIT ENGINE: THE MAIN CAUSES

Early or late ignition spark – the most common cause, which has unpleasant consequences.

The insulation of the spark plug can be broken. The problem is pennywise – it is enough to inspect the plugs and find a breakdown on one or more of them. To do this, simply remove the cap and inspect the ceramic insulator.
The rubber or silicone insulation of the spark plug wire may be broken. It is easy to damage it and just as easy to find the breakdown – start the engine and spray the spark plugs with water from an atomizer. Where the insulation is broken you will see sparking. With this type of failure, the engine will only trip in wet weather.

The ignition coil is out of order. The test is as follows – put the removed spark plug with the thread tightly against the ground, so that there is a good contact with the cap and start the engine. If there is a spark, the coil is fine.

Electronic ignition distributor failure. The commutator fails rarely, but you need to check it.

“Flew” candle – a phenomenon most common. To check it, a visual inspection for the presence of a spark is enough. If necessary, you can buy new spark plugs for your car in the online store of spare parts Fortuna!

TOO LITTLE OR TOO MUCH AIR IN A CYLINDER

Check the air supply system for leaks. Close the intake pipe and use a compressor to pump a little more than 0.5 atmospheres. If it hisses somewhere, it means the engine is Trojing for a reason.

Lack of air in the system can be caused by faulty chokes or a clogged air filter.

Another reason – the control unit itself for some reason decided that there is too little or too much air. Here only diagnostics and a good specialist will help.

EXCESS OR LACK OF FUEL IN THE CYLINDER

First of all, you need to check the pressure in the fuel system. If the pressure is insufficient, then you need to deal with the work of the fuel pump or pressure valve. Lack of fuel causes the engine to stall.

If the pressure is okay, look for a solution in the injectors. They can either be bad or just dirty. It is better to check injectors at a service station – they have special equipment for checking and cleaning. However, you can also check them in your garage, but you will not be able to clean them properly.

And lastly, check the engine control unit just in case. It may feel like anything and the service station will help to tune it for productive work.

LOW COMPRESSION

It is a sad story, connected with burnt pistons, valves and other fatal phenomena. In this case it will be necessary to prepare for defectoscopy and engine overhaul with all possible financial losses.
